Project Overview
Our client required a robust 2000kg goods and passenger hoist installed within a confined lightwell of a building undergoing extensive refurbishment.
Challenges Faced
- Restricted Access: The site was uniquely challenging due to its location with no vehicule access directly to the lightwell, requiring all movements to be conducted by foot within the building.
- Logistical Hurdles: Positioned on a busy main road, the installation process required a complete road closure and a crane.
- Equipment Specifications: The project specifications demanded a goods and passenger hoist capable of carrying 2,000kg with a large footprint to accommodate substantial sheet materials.
Proposed Solutions
We selected the Maber MBC2000 hoist for its capacity and suitability for the challenging urban environment. This model was chosen for its reliability and efficient footprint, fitting the lightwell’s restrictive dimensions perfectly. And we had the hoist in stock, we were able to install within 2 weeks, meeting the client deadline.
Results
Our precise planning and execution led to a successful installation, enabling the client to efficiently move large materials directly from the lightwell to the necessary heights on the scaffolding. The operation, including the eventual dismantling, was executed without disrupting the busy urban life surrounding the site.
What the client said:
“We were fortunate to find a hoist company that was both willing and helpful. They provided a hoist that perfectly fit our site requirements and had it readily available for the day we had the crane and road closure booked. The entire hire process went smoothly.”
